It is your own private room in a clean, dry and safe storage building that lets you store items that you’re struggling to find space for in your home or business. With self storage units, you choose the room size that best fits your needs. Self-storage offers flexible rental terms so you only pay for the time you need.

Customers have access from:
Monday to Friday: 6.30am – 8pm.
Saturday: 7am-5pm.
Sundays, Bank Holidays, and Public Holidays: Closed.
Access outside of these hours can be arranged by appointment.
24/7 access possible for long term customers.
Access to your self storage units outside our normal opening hours can be arranged. For more details, please get in touch.

Yes, a minimum of 7 days notice is required.
Monthly in advance via our direct debit system.
Yes you and a member of our staff sign a contract which you can take your time to read through and ask any questions you may have. A copy of your ID and proof of address is also required for security purposes.
Yes of course you can (assuming they are available). There is no penalty or charge for changing units.
Yes, we take great pride in the security of our facility. With CCTV Surveillance, Monitored Intruder Alarm, and a security patrolled park, you can have great peace of mind.
Only you have access to your storage unit, but you can nominate family, friends or colleagues to have access too. For security purposes, we recommend that you add the details of any authorised user to your account with Sturdy Self Storage.

Food or perishable goods unless tinned/canned so that they are. protected from vermin, (ii) birds, fish, animals or any other living creatures; (iii) combustible or flammable materials or liquids such as paint, petrol, oil, cleaning solvents, or compressed gases; (iv) firearms, explosives, weapons or ammunition (v) chemicals, radioactive materials, biological agents (vi) toxic waste, asbestos or other materials of a potentially dangerous nature (vii) any item which emits any fumes, smell or odour (viii) any illegal substances, illegal items or goods illegally obtained such as illicit (counterfeit/smuggled) tobacco or alcohol and unlicensed or unsafe goods (such as toys, electrical goods, medicines, aerosols, cosmetics, fireworks); (ix) goods which are environmentally harmful or that are a risk to the property of any person; and (x) items which are irreplaceable, such as currency, jewellery, furs, deeds, paintings, curios, works of art and items of personal sentimental value.
No, insurance is not included in the storage charge. This is because every customer has very different needs, some customers extend their home insurance policy to their storage room or take out a separate policy with their broker. If neither of these options is convenient, we can arrange cover for you for a small additional fee.
